randoms

Here are some random photos. A few of Mia at the doctor's office with me last Friday and a few from Aunt Sue from last Thanksgiving.

I found out I am anemic from my blood work taken last Friday - but my glucose is perfect! So I have started to take Slow-Fe which is a slow release iron supplement. It should help with my lack of energy. I hit a wall around 4pm! Otherwise baby #2 looks good so far. Lots of lower ab movements and kicks. Lots of movement especially at night when I'm laying in bed reading. I definatley am showing more and my students are eager to ask "are you having a baby?".

PJ

I have to post this so I don't forget this. It's so cute. Daddy has been teaching Mia to say "Pearl Jam" recently. She recognizes Jack (Johnson) Bob (Dylan) Justin (Roberts) and a few others by name when she hears them. Recently, we must have heard the newer "Just Breath" song a few times and told her it's Pearl Jam. Last week in the car, she insisted on listening to Pearl Jam. Seriously, she would get mad if I turned the radio on or a another cd. She'd say "no mommy Pearl Jam" so then she'd get happy when I would put on the new Cd "Backspacer". Then when the song "Just Breath" would end she would say "Pearl Jam good mommy". So cute! So on our road trip this weekend on the way out she insisted on listening to it again...but then did let us listen to a few other things too. Sometimes she didn't want any music on "no mu-sick". Daddy was showing her pictures of Eddie Vedder so now she knows him by name - haha!
Photo is Mia rocking her first PJ onesie last spring!

25 weeks and 23 months!

* Mia turned 23 months last week. She is doing great, learning a ton and talking so much. Also having really bad tantrums mostly before bedtime and at diaper changes. Hoping this passes soon but also think when we get her big girl room set up that will help with bedtime. She can solve puzzles great, is starting to match up pattern blocks, counts from 1-10 and recognizes most number, knows shapes and colors, knows all upper case letters and is starting lower case recognition, she is singing songs more to us and definatley has a mind of her own!
* Friday was my 24 week check up and glucose test. Everything looks great and I have gained 6 pounds! Baby was measuring perfectly and the HR was 150. My BP was 114/64 so I was happy with that. Dr. McGee gave us the OK to book our spring break trip so that will be fun.
*This weekend we traveled to Michigan and Mia had fun seeing her family. We stayed at a fun hotel and she loved playing in the pool. She loved visiting with Papa and her great grandparents. She loved when her cousin Kathy read to her and made a friend at the shower.
*Yesterday she water colored for the first time - she loved it!!! It occupied her for a long time while I started dinner.

sparkly shoes

Having a girl is great for several reasons that are too many to count. One though is having an automatic shopping partner. Now that is fun! Mia and I spent the day together yesterday on our jolly holiday day off (thanks MLK) and we went shopping. Here are Mia's new sparkly shoes (no not meant to be worn with socks but she insisted on wearing them all afternoon at home!)

We did some family shopping this weekend, even bought a few things for the baby at the big Carter's sale. We did a huge stock up at Sam's club - I just love stocking up on things and just running down to the basement to get things we use all the time!

I am now at week 24! This is going by so fast! I can't believe in just about 16 weeks we'll have another baby. We have lots to do to prepare. We are going to turn the guest room into Mia's new big girl room (we have to paint, carpet, get new light fixtures and closet doors and new blinds) and get new furniture for her. Then we'll spruce up her room a bit with new blinds for the baby! It's nice having another girl because we can use a lot of the same decorations, blankets, clothes, etc. But I also don't want the new baby to get just hand me downs, but it's nice to know we have a lot of stuff already. Definatley want to get a double stroller! The baby has been kicking and moving all around. This morning she had the hiccups! Friday I'll be heading downtown for my glucose test!

23 weeks and then some

It's been hard to get belly photos at night because I either forget or I am too tired to ask Corey. So here I am in my classroom bathroom taking photos of myself - haha (for the record my students are in computer class not in the room with me). I feel HUGE! I can no longer put on my regular jeans (they won't even go past my thighs) so I have been stricly in my maternity jeans. I feel like I am spreading wider than last time! The baby is moving around at different times during the day. I mostly feel movement in the lower area, no high kicks yet like Mia did to my ribs. I have been feeling fine, just tired at the end of the day but after getting everyone ready in the morning, teaching, cooking dinner, cleaning house/laundry, various chores at night, playing with Mia, it's no wonder I am tired at the end of the day! But I do like to get everything settled by 8pm so I have some quiet time to myself...after all I know in a few months sleep will be a thing of the past for a little while. But here I am at 23 weeks and 4 days.
Here is my peanut posing with her pony tail - she actually asks for them now which I love because she looks so cute in them. Her hair is really getting long but I think we will wait until after Aunt Christie's wedding to get a trim. Last night was a bit better...she still screamed when we left but only for a few seconds. I went to check on her later on and realized she had turned on her rainforest soother (still on her crib from when she was an infant) and was watching the lights! She didn't fall asleep I think until about 9pm but at least she was quiet and not crying.

ugh

I know most things are stages but last night Mia screamed and cried when we left at bedtime....she is fine, we do our routine, go upstairs, brush teeth (take a bath everyother night), turn on her 'music', daddy reads her books, we sing, she is happy then the minute we leave she starts crying. Last night it was unbearable but I know I have to stay out because if I go in makes it worse. Then she was up at 4am crying "mommy toooo mommy toooo"...I don't go in because I know she is still tired and if I leave her she'll fall asleep (feel like a terrible mommy but we all need our sleep). She finally went back to sleep then woke up happy this morning. Then we pull into Diane's driveway, she is all smiles, starts saying "fun, Nia, charlet, Kina (the kids names and Diane's name) we walk in the house and she sees Diane and runs crying and screaming to the door. Finally she stops, happily takes her coat off and goes to her seat to eat breakfast and check out all the stuff Diane has prepared for her (number puzzle, trains, coloring stuff, the things she enjoys most). A few times she was going to start crying but then she is fine. She has always been a mommy's girl but I hate seeing her so upset and hate seeing her cry! It's so weird how she is normally fine then out of the blue one day she'll act like this. It's tough!!

cold!

It was FREEZING this weekend (sub zero temps) so needless to say we didn't do much outdoors. Saturday we did errands, then went out to Aurelio's for dinner. Mia does so great at restaurants, I am so glad. As long as she has lots of food and her entertainment (her bag with restaurant goodies) she is usually fine. She was VERY fiesty this weekend. She was shaking her head no saying "mmm mmm" as in NO a lot. She skipped her nap on Saturday but daddy made her take one on Sunday which was good because she needed it. She is so into her letter and numbers now, it's so cute. Her cd player broke so after calling a few stores daddy had to drive out to Orland to buy her a new sound machine (which is way better so we don't have to repeat her rain cd anymore). She really loves her new machine. We read lots of books Sunday afternoon and looked at old photos. Mia chuckles when she sees photos of Corey and I younger, she laughs and points us out. She keeps calling herself "you" when she sees her baby photos. I tried a new soup recipe for Sunday dinner and it was YUMMY! Love trying to new recipes. My rules is that I cook Sunday-Thursday. Friday we do take out and Saturday we usually go out. I like this routine.

This morning we were driving up to her sitter's and she saw the address and said "Mommy found 4" as she pointed to the 4. So smart!
Here she is sitting at her vanity that daddy bought her for Christmas.
