Strange Weather & The Patterson's good-bye

The weather this summer sure has been crazy. One minute it's sunny and warm, the next it's downpours and chilly! We did get a few pool days in this week. The girls love the pool and their lessons start in a few weeks.

Saturday the Patterson's came for one last visit - they are road tripping from Cleveland to San Diego as a family for their big move out West and their first stop was Chicago! Mia and Ella clicked right away and were just so sweet together. Annie and Charlotte were sweet watching each other and giving each other hugs. We went to the brewery for dinner then back to our house to let the girls play before they had t  head back to the hotel. It was sad. It's going to be a great move for them and we are SUPER excited to visit them out in Cali once they are settled in. Distance will not change our friendship, it never has and it never will.

Earrings

Mia got her ears pierced this week! When you are 5 in our home it's time! She was so excited and was brave! She picked out Hello Kitty for Annie to look at.

VBC

The girls had vacation bible camp this week - which was great! I dropped them off, got my runs in and went to the office to get work done. But on Wednesday Annie decided she didn't like it much, Thursday I was called to get her and Friday she just didnt to stay. Mia loved it so that's good. They do a great job and I know next year Annie will enjoy it more. She was in the same class as Mia and Sophie but I think when the kids went into the big church to sing and play games it was a bit much for her. Anyhow here she is with her counselor. Mia again loved it and came Away with some really good lessons about standing strong and being confident.

Saturday was the soccer stars last game. We lost the last game after being undefeated. Great season girls!

The girls and I met Corey in oak park to hang out( he was coming from the city from the our time camp), see a movie and have dinner as a pre Father's Day. It was fun!

Then on Sunday we relaxed and enjoyed the day. The girls served breakfast in bed (peanut butter French toast with bananas). Then Mia played "country roads" for her dad. She had been practicing for about a month and nailed it for him. After church we blew up the girls new pool and hung out. We had a nice BBQ, took a walk and played some games before bed.

Last weekend was Jonah's bday party. The girls had a great time seeing their cousins.

Earlier in the week mom went to see the Rolling Stones with grandma, uncle Brian and aunt Stacy. It's been a fun concert week!

Memorial Day weekend

Another great, long weekend in Michigan at the summer house. We got up there on Friday and stayed until Monday. The girls had a blast playing in their new bounce house from Grandma and Papo and especially hanging out with their cousins Christopher and Patrick and uncles, aunts and Papa. We had cool weather so no swimming but we enjoyed going to South Haven for lunch, playing in the bounce house and chasing each other outside, walks, ice cream at Driftwood, Pontoon boat ride, some of the adults went to a winery, celebrating the cousins Birthdays and just being together. Everyone had a great time! Annie received some cute presents from her family, an adorable purse from Papa, clothes and shoes from Grandma/Papo, Tea Set from Aunt Christie/Uncle Chris and a sprinkler, bug hunting kit and jump rope and frisbee from the Wolfes. Great time, looking forward to more down the road.

Goodbye preschool...hello Kindergarten!

Wednesday was Mia's last day of preschool. It was very bittersweet. I am excited, as is she, for her to be moving onto Kindergarten. But then I feel sad knowing I won't be dropping her off at preschool anymore! The two years at FCC flew by and we were so lucky to have had the wonderful experience she had there. She made friends, as did we, that we will have for years to come. It's been great to see Mia grow in so many different ways. We are so proud of her, just for being her. I know she is going to EXCEL in elementary school and I can't wait to see her grow.
Today was our end of the year picnic, but since the weather was so rainy and COLD, we had it at the school, combined with the other 4/5 yr old class, which was great so Mia could see all of her friends. The kids played in the different classrooms then we had a huge lunch, inside picnic (one of the boys in the school owns a local restaurant so his mom donated yummy food for us all). The girls had a great time and soon Mia hugged her teacher good bye. We also found out one of her good friends, Chloe, has a summer house near ours, so we look forward to seeing her over the summer up there and meeting for up ice cream at Driftwood!
