Great weekend in the city. Play date at the zoo with aunt Stacy and Jonah. Then Our Time founder from NYC and his family came to town. We took them to the bean, millennium park, navy pier and out for pizza. Saturday was the big camp performance. We got to see daddy act on stage. We hung out with NYC crew at oz park then State for dinner. Mia and Annie made new friends. It was a great weekend!

Mom also met up with an old friend from grammar school and had a nice 12 mile run on the lakefront with her on Saturday morning. Nice run :)

Happy 4th of July

Awesome time at the summer house this year. Our family from Connecticut are in town so they joined us this year and it was so much fun. Aunt Anna, cousins Kathryn and David, Uncle Brian, the girls, Corey and I , grandma and papo all had a blast. We all went up Wednesday and came back early Sunday morning. We swam in the pool, rode the Pontoon at night to see the Fireworks, had a bonfire with s'mores, went to Contessa Winery, did go-carting and batting cages, went to St. Joe's for shopping, lunch and carousel rides, had a pizza night, had lots of bbq's....and played one of our favorite board games, "Life" and just had a great time laughing, catching up and the girls loved playing with their older cousins (hide and seek, they made a HUGE tent in the living room, Mia swam so much with no help it was great). Lots of late nights and we are all tired but it was a very special few days spent with our CT family.

Strange Weather & The Patterson's good-bye

The weather this summer sure has been crazy. One minute it's sunny and warm, the next it's downpours and chilly! We did get a few pool days in this week. The girls love the pool and their lessons start in a few weeks.

Saturday the Patterson's came for one last visit - they are road tripping from Cleveland to San Diego as a family for their big move out West and their first stop was Chicago! Mia and Ella clicked right away and were just so sweet together. Annie and Charlotte were sweet watching each other and giving each other hugs. We went to the brewery for dinner then back to our house to let the girls play before they had t  head back to the hotel. It was sad. It's going to be a great move for them and we are SUPER excited to visit them out in Cali once they are settled in. Distance will not change our friendship, it never has and it never will.

Mia got her ears pierced this week! When you are 5 in our home it's time! She was so excited and was brave! She picked out Hello Kitty for Annie to look at.

VBC

The girls had vacation bible camp this week - which was great! I dropped them off, got my runs in and went to the office to get work done. But on Wednesday Annie decided she didn't like it much, Thursday I was called to get her and Friday she just didnt to stay. Mia loved it so that's good. They do a great job and I know next year Annie will enjoy it more. She was in the same class as Mia and Sophie but I think when the kids went into the big church to sing and play games it was a bit much for her. Anyhow here she is with her counselor. Mia again loved it and came Away with some really good lessons about standing strong and being confident.

Saturday was the soccer stars last game. We lost the last game after being undefeated. Great season girls!

The girls and I met Corey in oak park to hang out( he was coming from the city from the our time camp), see a movie and have dinner as a pre Father's Day. It was fun!

Then on Sunday we relaxed and enjoyed the day. The girls served breakfast in bed (peanut butter French toast with bananas). Then Mia played "country roads" for her dad. She had been practicing for about a month and nailed it for him. After church we blew up the girls new pool and hung out. We had a nice BBQ, took a walk and played some games before bed.

Last weekend was Jonah's bday party. The girls had a great time seeing their cousins.

Earlier in the week mom went to see the Rolling Stones with grandma, uncle Brian and aunt Stacy. It's been a fun concert week!
