I think I found an application for my iPhone that allows me to update my blog. Exciting.
Nothing new to report. The beagles have officially been sent to my mom's house for safe keeping during baby watch. I hate when they are not home. They are such apart of our family it's lonely without them. We took Mia to dinner last night then out to mitchell's for a special treat as it might be our last outing as a family of three.
38 weeks today. I am hoping I hold out another week as I want to get our annuals planted and my haircut next weekend.

37 w 5 d check up
Things are slowly moving along. I am 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced and the baby is at station -2 so she is on her way. Again it's just a waiting game. I am thinking again week 39 but you never know! I feel pretty good, very emotional this week. I told my doctor and she said that could indicate the baby is just around the corner. I also didn't gain any weight this week. Mia and I had a nice morning downtown, after the doctor's we went to the play room at the Art Institute then met Daddy for lunch. It was a very cool but nice spring day. It's been a rainy afternoon but we did manage a long dog walk and a walk to the store.

Mia's milestones
I feel like I need to record what Mia is doing now so I know how much she is growing. Here are some things for me to record for my own knowledge:
1. Mia is counting up to 20 (she is skipping around in her teens but knows to go to 20). She can recognize all numbers up to about 14 (I have even heard her counting in spanish from 1-5, thanks to Dora I would imagine)
2. knows upper and lower case letters and can put beginning sound words to most letters (u is for umbrella, etc)
3. She sings the entire alphabet, twinkle twinkle, ding ding, songs with Daddy she can fill in the blanks to Gambler, Big Jim, Annie songs and I'll be your Baby tonight....
4. Daddy is teaching Mia geography, so far she can say where she, Papa, Aunt Christie and Ella live.
5. She is putting on her own shoes and trying her best to dress herself too (although at times it is hard for her but she is determined)
6. She can climb into her own chair and stroller and buckle herself - she insists on buckling herself in the car seat too which is fun
7. She is a master at puzzles. We have uploaded a few puzzle applications on the iphone and after showing her just once she catches on and solves them all herself.
8. She is a HUGE helper which is going to be great when the baby comes. She picks up after herself, will put her dirty clothes in her hamper, puts her shoes away, helps clean up after dinner, will go get things if I ask her and she LOVES to help out - totally builds up her confidence
9. Loves to go out back and play 'baseball' with daddy, she loves her beagles and will hug and kiss them, she loves feeding them and giving them their bones.

37 weeks and High Tea
i

Friday's check - up went fine again. BP was good, I am almost 2 cm dilated and baby is still head down and her heart rate was 130. So we wait and see how things progress! My doctor thinks that I will follow the same time pattern as Mia and deliver in my 39th week - I hope! We bought diapers this weekend and are as set as can be. Just have to pack my hospital bag this weekend.
My mom and best friend Mary took Mia and I to High Tea at the Peninsula Hotel this Saturday. It was a little surprise get together to celebrate our new girl. It was perfect and I loved that it was just the four of us not a huge big party. Mia received the child's plate that was so cute she was good and ate her food and just a few bites of the sweets. While we did that daddy checked out the hospital since it was down the street and found his way around so we know exactly were to go!

36 weeks

36 weeks and 1 day today! Friday's check-up went just fine. I am 1 cm dilated and Dr. McGee said my cervix is about 50% thinned out - so she is on her way! (I wasn't dilated until 38 weeks with Mia). She said she is head down which is great, my bp was fine and they did the last blood draw and swab on me. I go every Friday now.
We had a very productive weekend - washed ALL the baby clothes and put them away, moved Mia 100% into her new room, my mom and Greg brought us the new glider and assembled it in the nursery (we are moving my rocking chair to my room at our summer house) and organized some other things to get ready for baby #2. Daddy moved the car seats and got that all ready too.
Mia has been doing GREAT in her big girl bed (knocking on wood). She goes right to sleep, doesn't cry at all and seems to really love sleeping in there. It's so much nicer and I hope this continues. It was a beautiful weekend and Mia got to spend a lot of time outside, she loves going down her slide and playing ball with daddy (he finally taught her to throw forward as she was always throwing her balls backwards). She will only wear her baseball cap backwards like a catcher. Saturday Grandma and Papo came out to take Mia to dinner and babysit for us. We went downtown to celebrate two of my best high school friends birthday (yummy tapas then a fun night at a martini bar drinking virgin drinks :). Sunday Uncle Brian came over to visit and we all had a nice morning together. Took lots of walks, library and doing some yard work too. It was a nice weekend :)

spring break 2010

We are home after a long week in Florida. We had a great time and the weather was perfect. It's always nice to get away but even nicer to come home, rested and refreshed. I enjoyed not planning meals and cooking all week but now am ready to get back into the swing of things.Highlights from the trip:
* Mia rode her first pony! She wasn't scare at all, was very serious and had a natural position on her pony, Dylan. She loved it and I hope she will be a rider like I was growing up.
* Beach and pool time. We spent one day at clearwater beach (Mia loved digging in the sand with her shovel and filling up her dump truck and she liked making sand castles with daddy). Our hotel pool was on the roof deck and had a great view of Tampa Bay and a great sunset view too. Mia loved the pool and doing up and down with Daddy.
* Lowry Zoo (great zoo, very clean and huge, we didn't even get to walk the entire thing because Mia fell asleep). It was super crowded but we had a blast.
* Spring Training - our first day we headed to the Tigers baseball game and saw them play against the Pittsburg Pirates. Mia's favorite part was watching daddy throw her new ball to some boys and watching them play catch. She got her first Tigers baseball cap and a ball that daddy bought her.
* Children's Museum in St. Peterburg's - we went on Saturday and they had a bunch of Easter activities that Mia enjoyed, she saw real bunnies and the easter bunny himself
* Lots of good meals in Ybor City, Hyde Park, St. Petersburg and other areas we discovered. Mia especially liked the neat park we found in Hyde Park that had great equipment that was just her size. We had our Easter dinner at a greek restaurant to celebrate. Very yummy.
* relaxing, sleeping in and not doing any chores!
* We also checked out the World Cup Qualifier grand prix horse show where there were olympian riders that mommy used to watch when she was a little girl.
The not so fun stuff...TANTRUMS! Mia had a least one per day. Mostly when she was overtired and trying to do it herself. She is really into dressing herself and will get frustrated when she can't do it. The flight out to FL was great up until the last 10 minutes....then she did the scream all out tantrum that I dreaded on an airplane. Thankfully the plane ride home went much better and she did great.

She developed a fever yesterday and was very sleepy. At 6pm she said "mommy jammy, go sleep" so I changed her, she crawled into her new big girl bed by herself (first time ever sleeping in there) and went to sleep until 7am this morning. She didn't have a fever this morning so she went to Diane's and I hope she is ok. She was very excited to see Charlotte and play. Here she is in her big bed before we bought her new pillows and her bed rails were put up.
I will post more pictures later but these are just from my iphone: Daddy, Mia and Hank on the airplane, Mia riding Dylan (she looks so small!), Mom and Mia at sunset (moments before a huge I WANNA GO BACK TO THE POOL tantrum), Mia eating mexican, easter bunny ears and Clearwater beach.
I have officially hit 35 weeks!! Now it's time to get the hospital back packed, wash the baby clothes and get diapers and supplies! The countdown is on....
