Santa and Grammy's recital

Saturday morning we took Mia to our town's breakfast with Santa. It was so fun! Mia had a blast playing with the musical instruments while a pianist played Christmas songs, she got all the kids into it and had them all dancing! She wasn't afraid of Santa at all, when it was her turn to sit on his lap, she just laid on him, didn't smile but didn't cry. It was too cute. She was in awe of the penquin and polar bear walking around. When it was time to go, she kept following the bear saying "nooo bear!! bear too bear too" and did not want to leave his side.

Later that day we went to the city for a sleepover at Grammy and Papo's. We all went to see grammy's music recital. She hasn't played french horn since high school and recently has taken this hobby back up. When we were in the recital hall, Corey and I had to take Mia out because she kept saying "Grammy!! Grammy!!" when she saw her waiting in line to go on stage. But we did come back in when she performed and it was great to see her do a good job. We are excited for her spring recital. Mia made her play the horn again and again when we got home. Uncle Brian came too and we all had a fun night together. Mia watched the end of Polar Express and stayed up till 9pm! It was fun to be back in the city.

Mia and daddy have a new routine. After dinner they go into the living room and do push ups, leg lifts and bench press (aka daddy lifting up Mia). It's a good way for her to learn to count since she still protests when we try to count with her. She can now recognize all but 5 letters in the alphabet and her vocabulary is doing great. I can't count how many words she is saying because there are too many to count! I love the phrases she says mostly "daddy, are you?" "mommy, I miss you" "ready, set, go" and "oh man". She will 'read' to the dogs or her stuffed animals. And she loves the library! She usually throws a tantrum when it's time for us to leave. She is obsessed with Thomas the tank engine...it's so funny that is the last thing I would have thought she'd like but it's the first thing she plays with when she goes to Diane's and she loves to watch the show! REMINDER!!
