smooth criminal
So Annie LOVES the song "Smooth Criminal". We played it for her once since MJ sings "Annie are you ok, Annie are ok Annie?" and she dances like crazy when we play it. If I sing it or hum it she demands I play it right away. Too cute...so needless to say there are lots of Caporale girl dance parties to that song.

Go Blue
Dad and Mia went to the Northwestern v. Michigan game at Ryan Field in Evanston last night. Our neighbor is an alum and has season tickets, knowing daddy is a Michigan fan, he gave us two tickets. They had a great time and were right across the street from the first school I taught at, St. A's. Daddy even took Mia to "Mustard's Last Stand" the best hot dog stand ever in Evanston, for dinner. They had a great time and watched Michigan win.

Indian summer
We are really enjoying this great weather before that cold Chicago winter weather is upon us. The girls and I took a late afternoon train downtown to play at the park on Randolph and take the train back home with daddy. We got to grab a quick dinner too :)

Fall girls weekend
Grandma came early Friday to spend the day with us before we headed to the summer house for our annual fall weekend. After Micah was picked up we packed up and headed to Michigan. Luckily both girls went to bed easily and grandma and I enjoyed a fire and some wine.
Sarurday we woke up early and after breakfast out we went Sprague farm for some pumpkins then tried a new farm called Butler Farm. It was very nice and had a great petting zoo (with bloodhounds and horses!) and great pumpkins. They are a tree farm and it's neat you pick your trees out now for Christmas. We came back home for lunch and to play. Later we went out for pizza then had a fire before bed.
Sunday morning we went out for breakfast again then went to Jollay Orchard for apple picking. We picked a whole bushel in hopes of making a bunch of applesauce, pies, cakes, etc. The girls loved the hay ride out to the orchards. We headed back in the afternoon. It was tons of fun and the girls are excited to go back to Michigan soon. Thanks grandma!

still why?
Annie feeding her baby.

Mia is in the stage now where she wants to not only know the 'why' of things but wants to know what words mean....then when I do answer her 'why' questions she will continue to say "but still why" until I keep going deeper into the meaning of things! I told a friend I need to start carrying a Websters dictionary around with me! Too funny :) she is always asking "what if" questions too.
Walking to ballet

Annie is now obssessed with Thomas the train - she wants to read Thomas books all the time and will scream when she sees a Thomas anything! She is very decisive each night at bedtime she picks out her own books for us to read, if we pick one out she doesn't want to read she will shake her head no. Actually when Annie is telling you NO, not only does she shake her head but her entire body, especially if she is really insisted on saying NO she will swing her arms and twirl around to make sure you know that no means NO! Too cute!
Annie is really into the baby dolls now. She loves feeding them bottles, pushing them around in strollers and bringing them to the table to feed them her meal.

weekend visits

Saturday Pop Pop came to visit. Mia got to spend the day with just him and Daddy - they rode the train downtown, went to the Harold Washington Library, Millenium Park and had a starbucks treat. Mia loved all the one on one time.
Miss Annie and I spent the day alone too. First we drove to Lincoln Park to visit Mary and Sean and see their new condo. Then Mary treated us to lunch at the super cute cafe/indoor playground Little Bean. Then we all drove to visit our friend Clara and met her new little boy, Mikey. He is so cute and I can't believe Annie was just that small yesterday!! Annie loved seeing him as she adores babies...my friends and I had a great time catching up on life!
Annie and I met Mia, dad and pop pop back at home and all went out for a nice mexican dinner at Cilantro's. Then after the girls were sleeping, pop pop and dad went out for awhile for some bonding time too. Despite the rainy weather, we had a great weekend.
