first packed lunch

I know, I stay home so now I can blog about every little 'firsts' with Mia and Annie...haha. So today Mia started her enrichment class at school which means she had to take her own lunch, eat lunch at school then not get picked up until 2pm! I am so excited to see how her day was and hope she liked her class.

This weekend we took the girls to the museum to celebrate their friend Marie's birthday. Sunday Mia went to Sunday School for the first time. It's held in her classroom so she was excited. Then later in the day dad took Mia to see "The Lion King" at the movie theatre. She loved it!

Yesterday when I picked Mia up from school she was playing with her new friend Jacob on the playground. He ran up to me then asked if I was her mom. Then proceeded to tell get bye and how much he's gonna miss her. We saw him again getting in our cars and he was screaming " I'm gonna miss you Mia!!!". Too cute. Love to see her forming new friendships.

week updates

Mia just finished up her first week of school and she LOVES it! She has made friends with Jacob and Sophie so far. Wednesday they had corn on the cob for snack, they shucked it, cooked it and compared the hot/cold corn...then used the stalks for an art project. I signed her up for "Lights, Camera, Action" a drama/play/singing/dance enrichment class she will start next week.

Annie had her first storyhour on Wednesday. It was nice to finally take Annie somewhere just for her and have some time alone, poor little sis always gets carted around for fun things for Mia! She has been quacking like a duck all week and this week she has said "grandma", "poop", "cheese", "more" (signing for it all the time now too) and "cow, cow, cow cow" So cute!

Annie is 16 months

Yesterday on my birthday, Annie also turned 16 months . She is still adventurous, mischievious and we insanely adore her!

Annie is quite the charmer. This is her face when daddy comes home. Both the girls get so excited.
Annie loves to color, play with play doh, tinkertoys, anything that Mia is doing. The sisters get along pretty well, of course there are the daily fights but they get along great and are going to be best friends. Annie's words are Dada (her first and favorite word) Mama, daw (dog), more (she signs it too)...she loves when she hears the train and screams DADA - the Metra train line is known in our house as "daddy's train" so naturally you thinks he on the train when he's not home. She loves to dance, she loves watching Mia do ballet and will try to copy her. We always play music while making dinner and each night you will hear Mia repeatedly asking Annie "Annie, you want to dance with a partner". Annie loves the swings and slides at the park, LOVES the dogs (a bit too much sometimes, we are teaching her tails are not for pulling) and taking them for walks. She is always on the go, bringing me my shoes and her shoes and pointing to coats when she wants to go. She is a great eater like her big sister.

Our little Anniebel - we love you sweetie!!!

Turning pointe studio

Mia started her new ballet class. Miss Beth is wonderful! There are only four girls in her class so lots of one on one time. She loved it!

First day of preschool!!

Mia's first day of preschool went great! She was so excited last night before bed and this morning, daddy and I heard her go into Annie's room telling her how she was going to school today and was so excited and that daddy was staying home (they both squealed with that one)! Daddy stayed home for this special day. We took her this morning and it was only a short day, an hour, but we walked her in and she went right to her cubby, put on her name tag and was ready to say good bye to us very easily. Dad, Annie and I went for coffee while Mia was at school. We just kept talking about how this all went by so fast...I remember like it was yesterday waiting for Mia to say her first word or for her to finally sleep through the night! Now here she is turning into such a beautiful and smart girl!!!

When we picked her up, all the classes were on the playground. We then took Mia to Sweet Annie's for a special treat then to the park for a bit. She will go back on Friday for another short day then next Monday she will be there for her full day (9-11:30). I am so lucky I can be home to experience this with her!

We did our first pick up of our little friend Micah I will be watching three times a week - it's really easy, it's just like having a playmate for Mia! Annie likes having an extra kiddo in the back seat with her!

Purse

So Annie has decided to turn girly on me. Whenever it's time for us to get ready to go somewhere she goes right to her dress up bin and pulls out a purse, puts it on her shoulder and waits by the door. She picks all kinds of purses... It's really very cute! Especially because she is such a little daredevil.
