2 months

Today Mia is 2 months old! Here she is, same outfit, at 3 weeks and then today at 2 months. Think she is growing? I do too! We used to have to fold her sleeves, now we don't! Obviously she is smiling much more too!

sunny weekend

Mia spent some time outdoors this weekend because it was so nice outside! She truly loves when you walk with her in the bjorn. She spent several hours in her bjorn and daddy on Sunday. The stroller she still doesn't like much, unless she is sleeping and not realizing she's in it! Corey and I both noticed a huge difference in her this weekend. She was up more and much more interactive. She is smiling, laughing, cooing and ohhing. She LOVES when we read to her, her legs kick like crazy and she smiles the entire time. Two of her favorite things right now are her changing table and listening to the faucet run in the kitchen ( we are going to have a HUGE water bill). Nights have been a bit more consistent. She is still waking every 3-4 hours but will go back to sleep in her bassinet. Her personality is coming out more and more. Friday, I saw that she was looking at her fist. With mommy singing her the letter sounds and starting phonemic awareness with her, she should be reading by the age of 2! Just kidding.

knocking on wood

Mia slept great last night! I actually woke up and couldn't even go back to sleep while she was sound asleep. She did wake up for a small feeding but went right back down...IN her bassinet! Grandma came to visit on Wednesday and watched her for 2 hours while mommy when to get her hair done and do a few errands. It was a beautiful day outside but too windy for a walk. Today was another gorgeous day so Mia, the beagles and I took a walk (her in the bjorn). I didn't want to upset her in the carseat/stroller. I can't wait until she is big enough for the jogger stroller! We had to postpone her doctor's appointment until May 6th so that daddy can come and plus her doctor is on vacation for two weeks - so a few more weeks until those dreadful shots! Here's hoping for another good night sleep again!

back to square one

I knew it was too good to be true...Mia slept only 3 hours last night before waking up at 2:30 and not wanting to go back to her bassinet! Finally Corey rocked her to sleep at 430 and we just put her in our bed so I could at least get a few hours of sleep! It's weird how some nights she does great and others it's terrible! I am very cranky when I can't get at least 4 hours of straight sleep. Today is our first, beautiful spring day! Ms. Mia isn't happy about being outside. I put her in the bjorn and walked the beagles, she slept, I thought oh good chance to do some raking out front...that lasted 15 mins. So I am back inside nursing her hoping she will go back to sleep so we can get some fresh air again outside.

On a good note, she was great for daddy last night. He actually was able to spend some quality time with her not crying! She was great for a few hours, until our neighbors came over to bring her a present, as soon as they held her, she cried again. I hope she gets better with visitors. I even had to tell my best friend Mary not to come visit today because she slept so bad last night!

Here is Mia and daddy/Mia and mommy last night having fun time!

weekend stuff

Day four of Mia sleeping for longer than 4 hours in a stretch, then waking up a bit for a small nursing and off to sleepy land again for a few more hours! I hope this is going to continue! Here is a photo of heron Saturday morning sleeping in her Miracle Blanket! It really seems to be working at keeping her legs and arms snug all night long! Don't you love her bed head?

Daddy was able to see her during bath tub time this morning. She cried most of the time so he took pictures after the bath.

5 hours!

Mia slept for 5 hours straight last night! When she did wake up she nursed for just a little bit and slept for a few more hours! It was great, I hope she is entering a new phase. She was very fussy last night again, I think due to gas. Daddy went to the store and bought some natural Gripe Water. We gave her a little so maybe that is why she slept better? This is her this morning during tummy time, she was smiling! Must be from that good night's rest!

mia's auntie

Happy April! It sure doesn't feel like spring so Mia hasn't been going on too many walks. We did take a nice long one on Saturday morning. Grandma came to stay with us this weekend because Daddy and Auntie Christie went to visit Mia's other grandma. Then Auntie Christie stayed with us for a few days and Mia loved visiting with her. She has been very clingy to me this past weekend. I went to my OB appointment yesterday leaving her with daddy and she did just fine. She cried and he eventually gave her a bottle with my milk, she took if for 30 seconds and fell asleep! She likes to wake up after only sleeping 10 to 20 minutes and then eventually will sleep for 3-4 hours at night but it's rough to just get her settled. Hopefully it's just that 6-7 week growth spurt. Right now she is napping in her crib, fingers crossed she stays down for a bit!
