nursery updates

The nursery is pretty much set up. We are just now enjoying putting together some early shower gifts from our wonderful family and friends (so far our highchair, pack/play/bassinet, infant seat and stroller frame, bouncer). 34 weeks and 4 days! This Saturday is our first baby shower, should be fun!

33 weeks Day 1

I can't believe how fast the weeks are flying by! I am already 33 weeks! Still waiting for the valances to come in the mail but did manage to find an area rug and a few pictures for the nursery this weekend. Charlie was posing for a while with me. (I don't know why this is underlining everything I am writing.) Tuesday is my next check up!

2008!

Happy New Year! I can't believe this is the year that our baby girl will be born in! Here are a few photos. The first one is of me at day2 week 32 on New Years Eve!

The second one is of our baby dresser. It was my mom's when she was a baby and mine when I was a baby. My stepdad stripped and painted it for us. Kinda nice to have an heirloom baby dresser. It's already starting to get filled with clothes! A few more touches to the nursery and we'll be all set!

29 weeks

Baby C will be here before we know it! Nothing new to report just wanted to add a few pictures. Bosco is checking out my baby bump, he was feeling her kick! Don't mind my terrible photo. The other photo was taken today...I am feeling huge! She has been moving around so much lately. Yesterday at church I think she was dancing when the orchestra was playing! I think I have felt her head a few times, it's sorta weird, but very very amazing.

orange stuff

Yesterday was my 28 week check up! I had to drink the 'orange stuff' and sit there for an hour so they could do a draw on me to test my blood glucose. Good news, baby's heart beat was a fast 164...she was swimming all around from that sugary drink! I am measuring right on target and only gaine 1 pound this month! Dr. said everything looked perfect. Next month is my last 4 week appointment then I start to go every 2 weeks...then eventually every week. I am glad (espcially with winter upon us) that I decided to stay put near by instead of driving up to Hyde Park for the doctor. I also saw one of my lamazze friends at the doctor's office!

Lamaze Class

Epidurals, forceps, c-sections, slow/active/transition labor, episiotomy, dilation....tons and tons of information! Cor and I attended an all day Saturday and half day Sunday class of Lamaze and Childbirth. We are so glad we went. It was good for both of us to hear all this information, may have been it a bit too much information but it really did ease my mind. Our nurse was just great...I am hoping she will be on duty when I deliver. She was so caring and informative and had a way about her that made you feel that it was going to be OK...yes it is going to hurt and be hard but we'll be OK. We did some good breathing techniques and learned how to "PUSH"...she said if you can push the right way, that will really help, especially with an episiotomy. Fun times :) So I feel good and not really anxious for the labor, more curious as to how long it will take me because it's so unpredictable and different for each pregnancy. I am pretty positive I will want an epidural...but we'll play it by ear!

It was nice to go on the hospital tour too. The suites aren't huge but nice and cozy. We met some great couples that are due soon too and live in our neighborhood....good contacts! So we are excited for our little girl to keep growing and hope not to see her until AT LEAST week 38! Week 40 would be very nice. I also didn't realize how huge I still am going to get!
